I do understand its not everyones cup of tea, but I would love it if you could give the video a watch, share and maybe even subscribe. Im posting now every Sunday, Wednesday and  some Fridays , the usual beauty, fashion and tutorials will be on the channel. If you're interested in what I got or what I thought then please continue below.

If you have any questions or suggestions then please contact me in the usual ways, I'll speak soon.

Cheapest, Bestest Lipliners Ever

Friday, 22 January 2016

So if you know me you'll know I'm a sucker for a good lipliner/lipstick combo, the pouts everything. Ive noticed recently that when I buy my fave MAC Spice liner, it'll make one outing with me and then the next morning its no where to be found. Basically throwing away £14 at a time- which isn't sound with me really. In the search for a new replacement I found myself drifting toward my usual Barry M liner to substitute, bought that and thought I was good to go. As most of you know from twitter Ive been decorating like mad recently, to get ready for my youtube channel.

When it comes to home decor, nick nacks and candles the first place ill drift over to is Primark. Obviously I bagged a candle here and there, maybe a room spray or a pillow (ill get to that in another post). The mother was taking her time (as usual) and I seen a few posts about the PS Love range that Primark has and took the opportunity to go check it out. Soooo me being the impulsive buyer/hoarder I picked up every colour available in the Argyle Street shop in these cool lipliner and lip crayons. At a pound or two each it wasn't going to hurt the pocket.  So here they are guys.
So this is where I rave about how amazing they are... but honestly I now have 5 of the shade 'Brown'. So lets give you a run down of the colours I picked up and reviewed. Starting with the Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayons (left to right) I have Natural, Nude & Wine. Trust me the Nude crayon substitutes on college days for my MAC love 'Velvet Teddy'. Now onto the liners (again left to right) we have, Brown, Natural, Nude, Pink, Wine & Red. These liners are absolutely, positively the best things I've ever bought from Primark and at £1 I would buy every shade at least 4 times. I mix them with my MAC shades, drugstore ones and the crayons and they look fabulous and last all day.

I mean you can see just how much I've used the wine liner & I've struggled to find this shade again since. They have such great pigmentation and consistency, please, please, pleaseeee go try these out. So here they are, theres nothing much more I can say without boring you. Go pick at least one of these up and comment below or tweet me about your experience or any new shades.

So I obviously need to apologise as well for not posting in so long, but its been a hectic couple of months. Im not going to make hundreds of excuses life just got super duper in the way. But I'm here and ill be posting hopefully twice a week (depending on college schedule). 2016 is going to be fab & I love that you guys will be a big part of it. So if you want to collab or speak with me, get me in the usual ways.  Have a fab weekend and ill be speaking to you shortly.

Decorate Your Space ft Me In A New Light

Thursday, 26 November 2015

So I'm always picking up things here and there for my bedroom to make it all that little bit more homely. But recently I've noticed I've picked up more than usual (for me anyway). My room is mainly white and silver, so I like to make the most out of bold pieces round my room here and there. Anything from mosaic pieces, classical picture frames to hollywood inspired lighting. So its not like a full room tour, or like my bed or bedding its mainly just little nick naks that will go with anything and are super cheap that I've bought recently.

Uhmmm where to start.. this is always the hard part!!!

Oh yeah, so basically I'd say this home improvement thing started when I was coming to the realisation there wasn't any space left for my make up brushes (as you'll see by previous posts I've went a bit over board recently..) so I needed more ways to organise them. I live like a 2 minute drive from a B&M so I went down there just with the intention of buying like a cute mason jar for the time being, then ordering some clear acrylic ones? But one thing lead to another and I was looking for vases (completely off subject I know) and I was stuck between a longer one and this little short stumpy one (apparently a hurricane candle holder lol). Eventually I bought them both, well actually two of the stumpier ones and look what i did with them;
Pretty clever huh? I just shoved some smart price rice till about 1/2 of the way up in each vase and vallah, some super sparkly make up brush holders. Once I got them I went on a little shop and obviously I spotted something else. Which was this silver vintage ( i want to say baroque but i know thats not the word I'm looking for) 6x4 frame. ;

So lately I've been feeling a little bit sorry for myself and down in the dumps (no violins please.), just felt like a needed a lil bit of motivation. So where else to put that lovely inspiration than sat right night to me on my desk in that amazing silver frame. The quote in the photo frame is actually from TK Maxx for like 7.99 (so is the silver frame) in this cute little cut out card book thing, which can be framed and they have all sorts of sizes.  Ive managed to pop the other 6x4 quotes and picture in one of my collage photo frames, I've not finished it yet but ill pop an image on twitter so you can see.

So this is the part where you're probably going to find me a little pathetic or feel like "why am i reading this, omg srsly". So as most of you know I'm just a standard 19 year old, one year away from twenty and two away from being an actual adult in every country. I've never made this confession before and I don't think anyone really except my immediate family and closest friends (and even then its probably only grant) know. But from the age of like 6 I've been terrified from the dark, like I literally will sit there for like 10 seconds and just assume something in the corner going to eat me and Ill just turn round and put the dim light on my Illuminated beauty mirror back on.  So I really want to get over this fear, urghhh and so I've been buying fairy lights and little bits here and there from Primark to try and ease my way into it. So I've substituted these little ideas instead;

Okay so please hold back the gasps and the laughter, but even if you're just looking for that cosy lighting in the winter now that the dark nights are coming in, these little lighting ideas are ideal. So the little rose fairy lights from Primark where only £4-6 I believe and I've popped them into a B&M perfume bottle that I had from my old flat just to add a cluster of light (while looking like a bouquet at the same time).  Primark are actually rocking the home decor these days so I just couldn't wait to get my hands on this light which I had been waiting a lifetime for here in Glasgow. They have lots of things to choose from like shapes and words like this one ranging from £10 - 12.

So there you go, a little home haul for you guys for quirking up little areas around the home or your bedroom. Aswell as that you've got a little inside scoop as to how I'm a big fearty, but I'm trying to fix it while I can. Comment below or tweet me and let me know your weirdest and strongest fears, just so I don't feel so alone. As usual everything mentioned in todays blog will be linked below ( as best as I can, yeno what primarks like)for you to check out. If you've got any questions or you'd like to collaborate with me please drop me an email, tweet or comment. I hope you have a wonderful week and I'll speak to you soon.

Know Your Body Shape - Dressing for events

Sunday, 5 October 2014

We all know its coming, that one night, out of the ordinary where you can look and feel a million dollars, be it a prom night, award show or cinderella's ball. Its round the corner and now its time to start planning, finding that perfect dress, planning the perfect make up and hair. Despite the excitement it can be some what overwhelming and stressful (don't worry it'll be perfect in the end), so here's me offering a few tips and guidelines to help you out with that planning. As a bridal stylist for the last year, I can shed a bit of light on the subject and share with you my experiences. So where to begin...

The dress obviously! So where to buy from? who can you trust? is it safe to order from abroad?
In my opinion and from others horrible experiences never order from a Chinese wholesaler, if it seems too good to be true then chances are it is. Order from people with legit certificates and are legitimate retailers of for instance; Jovani, Sherri Hill or Tony Bowls. Shop around for the best prices, compare the quality and customer reviews.

Every girl has a certain body shape which suits certain and specific styles of dresses, something that will enhance what God gave you. On a weekly basis, at work, I am expected to know which dresses will suit a girls figure, height and weight (its a tricky job), but when done right leaves a girl feeling $1 million. So what kind of figure do you have?

Triangle : The Triangle shape is defined as shoulders and torso that are narrower than the hips.

Inverted Triangle :This is characterised by having wider shoulders than hips, and wearing a larger size on your top half than on your bottom half. Little definition between waist and hips, the lack of curves at bottom.

Rectangle :Little definition on the waist, your hips and your bust are roughly the same size and there is a small difference between your bust and waist is little.

Hourglass: The bust and hips are well balanced and you have a beautifully defined waist, likely posses a rounded bottom and rounded shoulders which align with hips.

Diamond: The hips are broader than your bust and shoulders, the waist is undefined and the widest part of the frame and lower legs are shapely.

Rounded: The waistline lacks or has no waist definition, hips and bottom may be wide and full along with waist creating a rounder look. (also knows as an Apple body shape)

Pear: The waist is well defined, bust and shoulders proportionally narrower than the hip-line and the thighs and bottoms are full and rounded.

So now you've identified which body shape you are, what kind of dresses should you check out and where?

Start of by looking for legitimate sellers (even if its all the way in NY), shopping round your city to see what kind of dress you can find. However some of us girls don't have that luxury of being able to get the designers labels and styles we want, so we resort to online shopping. The horror stories from ordering online are endlesssssss, from wholesale disaster, international sizing and it not suiting you as it did on that slender 5"8 model. So here are a few of my tips and (from personal experience) tricks on how to have a stress free prom, as far as humanly possible...

  • Go online initially, see what kinds of things you are liking, make a note of the style number or screenshot all details on your IpadIphone or tablet. Are you a lace kind of girl? a glitter girl ? or couture chic? you need to know what you love, like and hate.
  • Go shopping around some bridal boutiques, special occasions shops and even go check out some bridesmaids dresses. Try anything on, you need to know what suits your figure personally, try column, soft and floaty, mermaid, fishtail, princess... you name it just try it on!!
  • From that shopping trip you'll recognise what kind of things suited you, what details, colours and embellishments.. you never know maybe you've already found your dress! But for us indecisive hard to please girls, you've now chopped your online list in half... you better get shopping..
  • So way at the beginning you should have set that budget for the dress, taking into accounts things like make up, hair, shoes and accessories... trust me this end is pretty much endless. You have to be reasonable when picking that dress, for you, your mum and her poor bank account. So there's more of those $1,000 dresses of the list.
  • Here's the hard part.. picking one! Taking into account everything you have to choose that one dress and its as simple as "which one would suit me better?" , "which can I afford?" and "which one do I remember the most?"
  • Hopefully you've chosen the dress, so now to get your size and where to buy from? go on the official retailer website and see where they sell their dresses, most retailers have a list you can view of their suppliers to prevent any fraudulent activity. But since I'm so kind, here are a few I highly recommend: New York DressMack Tak Mart (where I got my Jovani 3008 eek) and Misses Dressy.
  • You're ready to order so how do you know your size? well basically, you're going to have to reform back into the good oldoriginal, method of using a measuring tape. Never order a dress guessing your measurements you need to be specific and accurate, I mean its coming from another part of the worldwho's to say their returns policy is as lenient as a high street store.
  • Wait... ITS HERE. Take it to get some alterations done, plan your hairbagshoes and nails all in accordance with that dress. Just double check you have an order number, parcel number and an estimated delivery time

I hope these tips are appreciated and help you when buying your fabulous dresses online, It would be awesome if you could share some of you views, experiences, tips and tricks with me. I hope you all look stunning, now I'm away to hunt for my dress for our Italian/Scottish Awards, god how fun! Seriously though, expect me ranting about all the cool websites I've found, not to mention make up, just warning you. Ahh the joys of blogging.
